There's no need to tell you how good apples are for you, but you may not have tried them poached before. Apples are lovely poached. They retain their flavour but also have a wonderful texture. Poached apples make a wonderful (and healthy) dessert idea.
Ingredients
- 4 apples
- 5g cinnamon
- 80g cherries, halved and pitted
- 20g honey
- 120g natural yogurt
Method
- Place 2 cups water in sauce pan, add cinnamon and poach apples for about 15 minutes or until soft.
- Place cherries in small pan over medium heat and cook 2-3 minutes or until softened.
- Add honey and stir through to combine with cherries. Cook 1-2 minutes then add ΒΌ cup water and simmer 2-3 minutes or until slightly reduced.
- Drain apples and place on plate. Drizzle cherries and sauce over the top. Drizzle yogurt over the top and serve.
